Minimum Wage Increase April 2019

The minimum wage rates will be increasing from 1st April 2019.

It is important to note that these rates, which came into force 1 April 2018, apply to pay reference periods beginning on or after that date.

The rates from 1 April 2018 are:

£7.83 per hour – 25 yrs.old and over
£7.38 per hour – 21-24 yrs. old
£5.90 per hour – 18-20 yrs. old
£4.20 per hour – 16-17 yrs. old
£3.70 for apprentices under 19 or 19 or over & in the first year of apprenticeship.

The rates from 1 April 2019 will be:

£8.21 per hour – 25 yrs. old and over
£7.70 per hour – 21 – 24 yrs. Old
£6.15 per hour – 18-20 yrs. Old
£4.35 per hour – 16-17 yrs. Old
£3.90 for apprentices under 19 or 19 or over & in the first year of apprenticeship
